THE COCHRANE LIONS RODEO

Running 54 Years Strong
The Cochrane Lions Club is a community building organization that preserves and promotes our western heritage, culture and community spirit.
1966

The Cochrane Lions Labour Day Rodeo
will be hosted through the September long weekend. Still considered one of the toughest Amateur Rodeo events in Canada and FCA sanctioned, we follow closely in the footsteps to the infamous Calgary Stampede. In fact, you can expect to see many of the same riders & stock showcased there, but
in a much more intimate setting.
In the 1990’s the Lions Club began to focus their efforts on creating a family weekend by incorporating children’s entertainment, local vendors, outdoor family entertainment, the biggest parade of the year, fireworks, live entertainment and our always popular Saturday Night Dance. The hosting of these events created a major tourist attraction to the Town of Cochrane with thousands of out-of-towners visiting our small western community.
